I came to Spain to become fluent in Spanish and live in a different culture from my own. I have done a lot of traveling around the world and have studied in Denmark and Ecuador. I really like, Adra. I think the small community is really nice and everyone knows each other. I come from a much bigger town. I am enjoying living in Adra. Everyone has been welcoming and accepting of me.

20. Is the weather in your city like the weather in Adra?
The weather in Adra is very different from the weather in Hamden during 75% of the year. In Hamden, it is hot, sunny and beautiful during the summer. During fall, the Maple and Oak trees’ leaves turn the colors of orange, yellow and red and fall to the ground. It is very beautiful, its called foliage. Then, in the winter, the weather is very cold (around 0 degrees
Celsius). It snows a lot and I get to go skiing in the mountains. In the spring, the snow melts and it is very rainy and muddy, but flowers start to bloom and the grass turns green again in the time for summer. New England (the northeastern part of the U.S. where I live) has this unique and beautiful four season year.

21. What are some differences between American teenagers and Spanish teenagers?
There are a lot of differences between American teenagers and Spanish teenagers. I think the main difference would be that the drinking age in the U.S. is 21 , not 18. Therefore you would never see a teenager in a bar. Therefore teenage drinking is illegal but is still done and is very common. However it is done in secret and many teenagers get in trouble for it by the police and their parents. The style of clothes also is different and also varies greatly within the U.S.

Thank you very much for answering our questions and we hope you enjoy your stay in Adra!
